Newcastle Para Track Program
Wednesdays from 4 to 6 pm
Wheelchair Sports NSW aims to enrich the lives of people living with a physical disability by participating in sports. The Newcastle Para Track program was established in 2017 to create sporting opportunities in the Hunter region for Wheelchair Racing and Hand cycling. It is currently the only organised program in the Hunter that services these sports. Members of the Newcastle Para Track program have access to a variety of racing chairs and hand cycles weekly, some of which are available for personal loan depending on demand and equipment availability.
The Newcastle Para Track weekly gathering currently boasts a variety of athletes including first-timers, developing racers, and national representatives. The beauty of our program is it is inclusive to anyone who wishes to attend (including able-bodied people) and that every individual sets their own goals including racing for exercise and social or competitive outcomes.
